Ok, so alot of people are striking against SOPA (Stop online Piracy Act) and PIPA (Protect IP act) by shutting down their sites, changing profile pictures on facebook. I don't think this will work. All this is doing is showing people that you are against it, but I HIGHLY doubt that any congressman or house representative would even see the 'strikes' you all have done. I my self am against SOPA and PIPA, even though I have read almost nothing about what the acts do (Just like everyone else who rages over it. I'm not being mean, but it's probably true) , besides what everyone has been saying it would do to the internet (Which I do agree is true). Even if the two acts get passed. I see possibly other countries getting super pissed at the United States of America for causing a bunch of their American customers to vanish if their site gets 'censored', or if their site gets considered 'Piraty' (This is if I am understanding what I have read up on how the act works properly)

Now... What will really prevent SOPA and PIPA is the big online businesses (Like Google or Godaddy (Godaddy is claiming against SOPA for now)) lobby for stopping and preventing the two acts.

Another idea for stopping it is more dangerous, allowed by our constitution as a form of protest and we are allowed to over throw oppressive government, and more likely to get shot or pepper sprayed, is to have all the internet users that are against SOPA in Washing ton DC go to congress and the house of representatives and peacefully protest by sitting down and blocking all the congressmen and house reps from entering. Now this idea would get people pepper sprayed (Which would violate our constitutional right to peacefully protest) so if anyone does it, wear a face mask that 100% keeps mouth, nose, and eyes covered.
